Going for the MPG. A First Timer for Clean Fleet Report is someone who purchased their first EV, PHEV or FCEV. In this case we met with Mark and Annette, who purchased a 2021 Toyota Prius Prime. The Prius Prime is a good compromise, providing great gas mileage with a fully electric option for shorter trips.

And I’m one those million since they’re counting plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) as well as full battery electrics. My lifetime tally is 231 mpg, which means I’ve used less than 80 gallons of gas over the car’s 42 months on the road. Toyota Prius Prime PHEV – 14,275. Toyota RAV4 Prime PHEV – 7,988. Nissan Leaf EV – 4,192.

We also have the Toyota Corolla Cross available for purchase, resulting in some troublesome overlap. Hell, even the Honda Civic Type R is supposed to yield 36 mpg on the highway when the C-HR was only able to manage 31 mpg. The new model is clearly designed by the same team that worked up the all-new Toyota Prius.

Although the EPA has not as of this writing released the final fuel economy numbers for the US A3 e-tron, Filip Brabec, Director, Product Management, Audi of America, said that the figures will be around 83 to 86 MPGe combined (depending on the equipment level), with 35 to 39 mpg gasoline only and 16-17 miles of EV range.
