That figure does not include damages from climate change, harm to ecosystems, effects of some air pollutants such as mercury, and risks to national security, which the report examines but does not monetize. Life-cycle CO 2 emissions from nuclear, wind, biomass, and solar power appear to be negligible when compared with fossil fuels.

Toyotas Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries are considered "non-hazardous waste" [See "high voltage electrical systems" ]. At the moment, only 2004-2007 Priuses , and to a limited extent, the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner Hybrids. Better yet, make a tax-deductible contribution. Are the batteries recyclable? How can I help?
