Bus operator Go-Ahead London has taken delivery of its first Smith Edison vans, following a successful month-long trial of the technology. . Its lithium-ion batteries deliver top speed of 50mph, a range of up to 100 miles on a single charge and can be recharged from flat to full in 6-8 hours.

At the Manhattan stop on its year-long “Born Electric” World Tour, BMW i featured the BMW i8 Concept Roadster—shown for the first time in North America—and the BMW i3 Concept. Following the New York stop, the tour will travel to London (January 2013) and Paris (March 2013) before ending in Shanghai (June 2013).

Because fewer homes in the UK and especially dense cities like London have garages, most of the companies offering some form of curbside and pop-up charging solution are in the UK. Shell Recharge has plans to operate 500,000 charge points by 2025 , but it is unclear how many of these will be at Shell retail locations in the US.
