I am pleased to participate in the EV Project, which came late to the San Francisco Bay Area, and happy to get my tax-payer funded charger and DC Fast port. They’ve kept my LEAF juiced, after all. Coulomb and Ecotality sometime soon won’t be able to leverage taxpayer money to keep other manufacturers at a disadvantage.

The use and technology of a computer cable does change, so the plug cant remain for 25 years or whatever. I imagine there will be tax incentives to build green generators when were at that stage.

For on-the-go juice ups, the idea is to exchange your dead battery for a fresh one owned by Better Place. Which scheme wins may depend (in addition to financing hurdles) as much on our driving habits and patience as on advances in technology. Elon Musk is going to get about $5 of my hard earned money based on my fair share of taxes.
