Yes, tankers of dirty, expensive oil are brought in and boatloads of money are shipped back to the oil companies. Oil burning is one of the single biggest sources of pollution coming from the whole state.

Driving range will no longer be an obstacle, because customers will be able to plug their cars into charging units in any of the 500,000 charging spots in Israel.

So far Israel, Denmark, Australia , Hawaii and California’s Bay Area have plans to implement the Better Place model. Oil is the alternative. Are we going to burn more oil, natural gas, or (gasp) coal to produce it? The most common methods involve burning natural gas, oil or coal to power the engines to generate electricity.

Better Place is building stations in San Francisco, Hawaii, Israel, and Denmark to swap out 1,000 pound batteries in a car wash type set up. Several global indicators on the supply of oil and the known carbon pollution environmental damages its caused all lead us to find cleaner ways of transportation. We have oil!
