The first green hydrogen project will be an integrated facility and is set to be connected to an existing ammonia plant in Chirchiq, 45 kilometers from Tashkent, the country’s capital. The project is expected to generate 3,000 tonnes of green hydrogen a year. These projects are the first of their kind in the Central Asian country.

The standardized 20 MW alkaline water electrolysis (AWE) modules—now called by the product name “scalum”—will enable an installed capacity of more than 700 MW. Low-carbon eFuel is a drop-in synthetic fuel made by reacting CO 2 , captured either directly from the atmosphere or from an industrial facility, with renewable hydrogen. In Saudi Arabia, Aramco and ENOWA (Neom Energy and Water Company) are working to demonstrate the production of synthetic gasoline for light-duty passenger vehicles.
