The Toyota Prius, the Honda Insight and the Nissan Leaf have used air cooling based thermal management systems. … Before the propane injectors there is a regulator tank that stores the propane vapor before sending it to the injectors. An air cooling thermal management system for battery packs is sufficient in many cases.

Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) is the concept of using stored energy in a plug-in hybrids (or electric cars) battery to send power to the electrical grid when necessary. Lithium-Ion batteries share many characteristics with NiMH. Ive heard lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous if they overheat. What about battery safety?

Several early models of passenger vehicles have enough energy stored in advanced batteries to power several homes for hours. Does it, in essence, come down to the fact that V2G takes advantage of battery storage that would exist anyway , as opposed to requiring batteries specifically for the purpose of storing night-time electricity?
