Looking at most dealer lots, there’s a fair argument to be made that crossovers and SUVs have rudely – and perhaps permanently – shoved sedans into the bin. Its proportions are arguably anti-SUV, using a classic three-box sedan design incorporating a long hood with a greenhouse set well back on the overall silhouette.

Consumer Reports rates the Buick Enclave higher than vehicles from Toyota, Volvo, Infiniti, Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz in the Luxury- Full Size SUV category. I was able to spend 10 minutes driving a Saturn Aura sedan with an (HCCI) engine system.

The two-mode design, itself originally adapted from a hybrid transmission designed by Allison for transit buses, has up to now been exclusively incorporated into rear-wheel-drive (RWD) transmissions with the intent of reducing the fuel consumption of heavier and larger passenger trucks and SUVs while preserving towing capacities.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. Shifted earlier focus to all-electric Focus in 2011 with Magna. Company says its focusing on gasoline and hydrogen. todays answer is "Yes -- but not yet."
