Mazda Motor Europe unveiled its new crossover SUV, the CX-60. The CX-60 is the first of Mazda’s Large Product group models, and offers (European specification model) e-Skyactiv PHEV, Mazda’s first plug-in hybrid system featuring a 2.5-liter liter e-Skyactiv X gasoline engine, both featuring Mazda’s 48V mild hybrid system.

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) announced fuel economy figures for and updated pricing of its new 2014 Mazda6 midsize sedan, featuring the i-ELOOP regenerative engine braking system. The i-ELOOP equipped Mazda6 is EPA-rated at 28 city/40 highway/32 combined mpg US (8.4, Earlier post.) l/100km, respectively).

Mazda Motor Corporation has launched its SKYACTIV next-generation technologies—including engines, transmissions, vehicle bodies and chassis—that will begin appearing in Mazda products from 2011. The Mazda Demio SKYACTIV-G will achieve fuel economy of 30 kilometers per liter (70.6 mpg US, 3.3 Earlier post.)

EPA projects advanced transmissions (6+ speeds and CVTs), gasoline direct injection (GDI) systems, and turbocharged engines will be installed on at least 15% of all MY 2013 vehicles. The majority of the emissions and fuel savings from current vehicles, EPA noted, is due to new gasoline vehicle technologies. mpg, or 22%.

The 2022 Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is powered by a 2.5-liter The Environmental Protection Agency, EPA , rates fuel economy at 40 highway when running in gasoline mode only. That number jumps to 105 MPGe, or miles per gallon equivalent, when combining electricity and gasoline. No gasoline used.
