Long Beach Transit (LBT) recently received a $600,000 grant from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) of the South Coast Air Quality Management District Near Zero Incentive Program for the purchase of 40 Cummins “near-zero” compressed natural gas (CNG) engines. Workhorse Group has received a Letter of Intent from Clean Fuels Ohio to partner with Workhorse to help deploy 500 W-15 Plug-In Electric Pickup trucks throughout the state of Ohio. Workhorse has also received Letters of Intent from Duke Energy, Portland General Electric, the City of Orlando, and Southern California Public Power Authority.

UPS announced an update to 125 Workhorse E-GEN series hybrid electric delivery trucks that improve fuel economy as part of the company’s broader Rolling Laboratory approach. 4-cylinder engine; charging capability remains the same, as does the electric range. The small ICE could be outfitted for gasoline, propane, or CNG.

An American green technology company has developed a hybrid Hummer capable of over 100mpg. Raser Technologies, the company behind the hybrid hummer, claims to have achieved the impossible by greening up one of the cars with the worse environmental record. The Hummer H3E is a plug-in electric vehicle with an onboard range extender.
