The project also includes a proprietary process to convert waste biomass into carbon dioxide and hydrogen to feed the bioreactor, allowing butanol production from waste feedstocks. The novel pathway will use hydrogen gas to convert carbon dioxide into C-2 and C-4 compounds that will serve as precursors to biofuels, such as butanol.
