However, the emissions of electric vehicles depend greatly on the energy source used to generate the electricity that powers them.

Battery electric vehicles are only as clean as the energy source used to generate the electricity that powers them. These results indicate that coal and oil are the energy sources leading to most emissions, and that hydro, wind, and nuclear are the energy sources leading to least emissions. Natural gas. A consortium led by micro gas turbine company Bladon Jets recently secured investment from the UK Technology Strategy Board to develop an Ultra Lightweight Range Extender (ULRE) for next-generation electric vehicles. Bladon Micro-Jet Engines are 100% axial-flow, gas turbine engines for use in a variety of applications.
