A subsidiary of Foster Wheeler AG’s Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract for the basic engineering design of a new hydrogen production unit, based on Foster Wheeler Terrace Wall steam reforming technology, to be built at the Atyrau Refinery in Kazakhstan.

Nine major upstream projects are expected to start-up in the next two years including four in West Africa, Kashagan Phase 1 in Kazakhstan and the Kearl Oil Sands project in Canada. Additional projects are under way, including new facilities at ExxonMobil’s Singapore refinery and at a joint-venture refinery in Saudi Arabia.

Toyota Motor Europe (TME) reported a 38% increase in its Q1 2016 hybrid sales (Toyota and Lexus brands) versus the same period last year, representing 30% of total sales, compared to 24% for the full calendar year 2015. —Karl Schlicht, Executive Vice President, Toyota Motor Europe. Total market share for the group stood at 4.8%.

The results of an independent head-to-head fuel test between GE’s Evolution ES44AC and EMD’s SD70ACe Tier 2 emissions-compliant locomotives found that GE’s locomotives are more than 6% more fuel-efficient compared to their EMD counterparts. The head-to-head fuel tests were performed using reproducible and repeatable processes.

Up to now, Zeekr has entered Eu markets in Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany, and signed commitments with companions in Israel and Kazakhstan.
