It is estimated that the retrofitted hybrid trucks improve fuel economy by 44 per cent, decrease particulate matter by 96 per cent and cut nitrogen oxides by 75 per cent compared to the standard trucks. The vehicles are expected to go into service in California, and primarily across San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles.
