The vehicles and infrastructure being funded include the use of natural and renewable gas, propane, ethanol, biodiesel, electricity, and hybrid technologies. The project will deploy 502 alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles through 119 public and private fleets throughout the state. Total DOE award: $15,000,000.

Analyst projections of future production volume for the most part are consistent with the targets set forth by ARB staff at the November 15, 2010, workshop, but caution is advisable. Over the long run, the ZEV program will transition into the LEV program GHG fleet average. Task 2: Metrics.

As I learned at the day-long April 29th California Energy Commission Staff Workshop on AB 811 and AB 811 type programs in Sacramento, programs done on an individual city basis, like the City of Berkley’s, don’t enjoy the necessary economies of scale that countywide, JPA or statewide programs (now in development) can bring.
