Neste Oil celebrated the grand opening of its NExBTL renewable diesel refinery in the Port of Rotterdam. Like Neste Oil’s three other NExBTL plants, the refinery in Rotterdam is ISCC-certified and capable of producing also renewable aviation fuel in the future. The start-up of the Rotterdam refinery took place in September 2011.

A three-year biofuel trial organized by Neste Oil, Helsinki Region Transport (HSL), and Proventia has recently been completed, and the results have shown that Neste Oil’s NExBTL renewable diesel can significantly reduce local emissions that have a direct impact on urban air quality.
