Which EVs made the tax-credit shortlist in 2024? 2024 Rivian R1S A preliminary list of 2024 EVs qualifying for the tax credit was released early this week by the EPA, and as expected there are very few models qualified for the full $7,500 amount. While it might still be all-in on EVs for the long-term, GM struggled to make EVs in 2023.

GM’s CFO Paul Jacobson says the new Bolt EV will save the company billions by becoming North America’s first Ultium-based model to use LFP batteries. Over two months later, sales are still suspended.

The list of electric vehicles qualified for the EV tax credit in calendar year 2024 has been released. Also of note: No Rivian electric truck qualifies for the full $7,500 tax credit amount in 2024, at this time. In 2025, the tax credit rules will be extended to mining, processing, and recycling of critical minerals.
