Micromobility Europe , the euro-focused sister show of the Micromobility America conference, is one of the main industry-focused trade shows concentrating on a wide variety of small-format vehicles designed for personal mobility. That includes everything from e-bikes and e-scooters to golf carts and micro-cars.

Chinese companies set up crucial research facilities in the United States and Europe and sent the results back home. Last fall, Japan suspended its test of driverless golf carts that travel 7 mph after one of them hit the pedal of a parked bicycle. Europe has also begun studying the issue. No one was injured.

In his CES talk, Fields said that rapidly advancing connectivity; software and sensor technology; and big data were the enablers behind the Smart Mobility projects—eight in North America, nine in Europe and Africa, seven in Asia and one in South America. —Mark Fields. Indeed REVA is braced for the future having already unveiled several new models of its own that feature sleeker looks than the G-Wiz which has often been compared to a golf cart. This two-seat sports car will also feature the drivetrain technology and REVive system and is expected to be a standout in its class for performance.

Now popular in Europe, Think Global meets all European and US federal motor vehicle safety requirements. Think Global was formerly known as Think City, a prior Ford Motor Company ( F ) acquisition and part of a now-defunct Think division at Ford. By 2011 look for a larger THINK Ox. Think has also established partnerships in the U.S.

It will appear in Europe next year as the Opel Ampera and in Australia as the Holden Volt in 2012. cheaper (frame, electric motors, battery), lasts longer (less moving parts = less to break and maintain) and just a greater win, more future compatible too. You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart.
