According to a study commissioned by the Washington, DC-based Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), NO x emissions measured from propane autogas school buses were substantially lower than those measured from diesel school buses. For the stop-and-go route, NO x emissions were 34 times higher for the diesel school bus.

Units 1 and 2 at the Pleasant Prairie Power Plant (P4) recently were retrofitted with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems to control emissions of nitrous oxides (NO x ) and wet flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems to control sulfur dioxide (SO 2 ) emissions. This retrofit also included the construction of a new chimney.
