Nissan Motor Co. CEO Makoto Uchida acknowledged that the market for electric vehicles is growing faster than anticipated in the United States. He also noted that Nissan will invest $250 million in its powertrain facility in Decherd, Tennessee. of Nissan’s volumes in North America came from battery-electric cars.

Nissan's new electronic vehicle, the Leaf. (AP Nissan began accepting reservations for its eagerly anticipated Nissan Leaf today. After a federal tax credit and state rebate, the price of these cars will come out at around a cool 20k. Reservations for the all-electric Nissan Leaf start Tuesday.
