Reuters reports that Chrysler has disbanded its ENVI team, formed in 2007 to bring electric-drive vehicles and related advanced-propulsion technologies to market. At the North American International Auto Show in January 2009, Chrysler had introduced two new EV concepts and updates on three earlier EV concepts developed by the ENVI group.

Editor & Publisher reports the NY Times has taken delivery of a long-awaited plug-in hybrid Sprinter Van from Daimler/Chrysler. The van, a Dodge Sprinter PHEV, will be kept at the paper’s printing plant in College Point, Queens and will be used to transport papers. It will perform everyday duties.

I t wasn't that long ago that I remember a Chrysler ad that bragged about how its new Charger, with the big V 8, was a hybrid. Now, the very ungreen Chrysler is changing its tune. In the last few weeks, not only has Chrysler made announcements, so has Mazda, Hyundai, and Nissan. it burned gas and rubber.

In-trouble car manufacturer Chrysler LLC has put forward three proposals as a request for $224million in funding under two US Department of Energy initiatives - the electric drive vehicle battery and component manufacturing initiative and the transportation electrification initiative. The total investment under the proposals is $448million.
