Volkswagen AG has agreed with the US government to resolve criminal and federal environmental and other civil claims against the company relating to the diesel emissions cheating débâcle. The Supervisory Board directed the law firm Jones Day to share all findings of its independent investigation of the diesel matter with the DOJ.

Wessels Reederei signed a letter of intent with MAN Diesel & Turbo regarding the conversion of three of its fleet to dual-fuel gas operation. MAN Diesel & Turbo reports that the dual-fuel conversion has enabled the Wes Amelie to reduce its SO x emissions by >99%, NO x by approximately 90%, and CO 2 by up to 20%. Earlier post.)

Doosan Engine, a licensee of MAN Diesel & Turbo technology, has confirmed delivery of the world’s first dual-fuel, low-speed ME-GI (main engine, gas injection) engine to the American National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyard in San Diego. The vessels will each be powered by a single 8L70ME-GI dual-fuel gas-powered engine.
