The XeroPoint Hybrid system consists of a diesel engine and an electric motor that independently or simultaneously drive a propulsion shaft. The system is targeted to vessels that have a duty cycle profile with extended periods of low- to medium-power requirements, as diesel engines are least efficient at these load levels.
