But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. It isa fundamental change in direction for GM. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. Thats short-sighted.

City Safety is designed to help a driver avoid rear-ending another vehicle in slow-moving, heavy traffic. It’s not designed to work at speeds faster than 19 mph. SYNC represents a different approach than that taken by embedded systems, such as GM’s OnStar.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. Weve kept the summary table below generally up-to-date for passenger PHEVs, but not for BEVs, motorcycles or larger vehicles like buses and trucks.

The first one was the Zytek design you mentioned, but this is a 2nd "new and improved" design from Tesla, with more power, higher speed and greater range. The revised Think from Think Global has emerged as popular in Europe with a more stylish design than the earlier iteration. It features ABS brakes, dual airbags, and is designed to meet all European and U.S. I am more reminded of Segway, or that GM thing that Segway helped them build. safety requirements. Does that bother you?
