Electrify America LLC announced it will install more than 2,800 workplace and residential charging stations by June 2019 in 17 of the biggest metropolitan areas in the United States. The companies have committed to install 35% of all multi-family and workplace sites in California in designated low-income or disadvantaged community areas.

Watsontown Trucking Company operates a fleet of 425 trucks that perform over-the-road transport, as well as regional haul and last-mile delivery—two applications that the Volvo VNR Electric model was designed to support. Producers Dairy secured funding for the Volvo VNR Electrics from Voucher Incentive Program (VIP) Plus-Up funding.

Up to $29 million is now available through the Southern California Incentive Project ( SCIP ) to install charging stations in the four-county area. California aims to get 5 million EVs on its roads by 2030 and to install 250,000 vehicle charging stations to support those vehicles.

Select DCFC stations also will be installed near multiunit dwellings (MUDs), expanding access to drivers who reside in apartment complexes and similar communities. Metro DCFC stations will be placed in retail locations and are intended to serve EV drivers in their daily fueling needs.
