Sibanye-Stillwater to achieve majority shareholding in Keliber; seeks to increase shareholding further to 80%

South Africa-based mining and metals group Sibanye-Stillwater acquired an initial 30.29% shareholding in Keliber Oy as announced on 23 February 2021, by way of a phased equity investment. Keliber has completed a definitive feasibility study (DFS) which has confirmed the quality and inherent value of the Keliber project.

Neo Performance Materials and Energy Fuels launching US-European rare earth production initiative

Under an agreement in principle, subject to completion of definitive agreements, Colorado-based Energy Fuels will process natural monazite sands into an RE Carbonate beginning in March or April 2021 and ship a portion of that production to Neo’s rare earth separations facility in Sillamäe, Estonia (Silmet).
