The power electronics, which convert the direct current (DC) into three-phase alternating current (AC) which is used to drive the motor, are located in the center tunnel. The power electronics also integrate a DC/DC converter, which converts energy from the high-voltage battery to 12 volts to supply the 12-volt electrical system.

The motor is a 4 kW brush DC motor. I can understand the need for maintaining capital cost parity with an equivalent diesel tractor. The torque delivery is superb, thanks to the DC motor. Celestial has come up with an interesting design of a dealer workshop. Next version will be BLDC, or hopefully brushless.
