Mitsubishi could be the first with cars for sale if the UK distributor has its way. From where I sit (in the driver's seat of a NiMH powered Toyota RAV4 EV) this seems eminently practical. It is projected to cost between £15,000 and £20,000, a pricey $30-40,000 at today's weak dollar.

By comparison, the Nissan LEAF carries a 99 MPGe (combined) EPA rating, while the smaller i-MiEV carries a 112 MPGe (combined) rating. 10:59AM (4/22/2009) I know it is a REALLY superficial criteria, but I love the paint scheme on the blue one pictured. Thats such a pretty metallic blue; I would love to see these postal vehicles around my neighborhood. I really hope Chrysler can pull themselves out of the fire. Looks sharp.

There are likely many benefits to home charging that ought to make this the most popular option and here well cover the three "c"s: convenience, cost, and carbon-control. If cost is an important consideration, than charging your EV at home is a no-brainer as it cuts out any profit-hungry middlemen. Battery swapping has its critics.
