British EV technology company Electrogenic, known for its classic car EV conversions, has expanded its range of drop-in conversion kits with a cost-effective plug and play solution to electrify the classic Mini.Electrogenic’s kit converts the automotive icon to electric drive from just £15,000 (US$18,800) plus VAT.

Porsche will unveil the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid with controlled all-wheel drive and an electric range of 50 kilometers (31 miles) at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. The all-wheel Porsche achieves a top speed of 278 km/h (173 mph) and delivers a system torque of 700 N·m from stationary without hesitation.

Porsche unveiled the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid plug-in hybrid ( earlier post )—the fourth model in the Panamera line—at the Paris Motor Show. l/100 km (94 mpg US) in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) for plug-in hybrid models, with up to 50 km (31 miles) all-electric range. That corresponds to CO 2 emissions of 56 g/km.

After spending the past year and a half converting a Porsche 914 to an electric vehicle, I decided to expand my horizons by designing an open-source electric vehicle (EV) conversion kit for a commonly used car. I hope this project furthers his vision of emission-free electric vehicles for people.

Here goes (in no particular order): Things That Went Well During the Conversion The 914 AC kit from Electro Automotive is a good one. I even received a few posts from Mike Brown at Electro Automotive, the designer of the kit.

Audi’s e-tron quattro battery-electric SUV concept, which made its formal debut at IAA in Frankfurt ( earlier post ), is a strong indicator of Audi’s series-production electric SUV due in 2018—especially in terms of the powertrain.
