The LightningElectric is a battery-electric drivetrain package for the heavy-duty Ford Transit, a product used extensively by commercial and government fleets. The fuel cell uses hydrogen to charge the electric batteries for a longer-range zero-emissions fleet solution.

Poway, California-based Plug In Conversions Corp. kWh NiMH plug-in hybrid (PHEV) conversion kit that enables all-electric mode driving at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour (until the battery pack is depleted) in a converted Prius. What we’re essentially offering is all-electric performance for about 25 miles at highway speeds.

UPS announced an update to 125 Workhorse E-GEN series hybrid electric delivery trucks that improve fuel economy as part of the company’s broader Rolling Laboratory approach. 4-cylinder engine; charging capability remains the same, as does the electric range. The small ICE could be outfitted for gasoline, propane, or CNG.

The program includes the installation of 10 alternative fuel refueling sites (two B20, one Electric Recharging, and seven CNG). Total DOE award: $15,000,000.
