Lutz is a man given to hyperbole — called global warming "a crock of shit" — but in this case, hes right. Yes GM will lose $ on the Volt, just like the first Insights or Priuss, but unlike Toyota or Honda, they just cant afford to wait for it to catch on and become profitable.
