Power and automation technology group ABB has started installing multiple fast-charging systems for electric vehicles (EVs) at some BP service stations in the Netherlands as part of a nationwide trial. Prestige GreenCab, a Dutch taxi operator with a large electric-vehicle fleet, took the initiative for the installations in Utrecht.

The Netherlands-based Fastned, the company building a European network of fast charging stations, saw its first two stations break-even in March. Fastned began installing stations in The Netherlands in 2015; 57 are currently in operation. Fastned expects that more stations will pass the break-even point in the coming months.

Dutch-Norwegian offshore solar company SolarDuck , Italian investment fund Arrow Capital, and Italian developer New Developments are jointly developing the Corigliano project, which will be in the Gulf of Taranto off the Calabrian coast of Corigliano-Rossano: SolarDuck is a spin-off of Damen Shipyards, a major shipbuilder in the Netherlands.

ABB has delivered and installed Austria’s first network of direct current (DC) fast-charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs). CHAdeMO standard; it offers one 50 kW max connection. In July, ABB acquired Netherlands-based Epyon Power ( earlier post ) and created the Product Group EV Charging Infrastructure.
