The project includes quick-charging stations at this terminal layover in route to recharge bus batteries. Grid sourced electrical energy used to recharge the bus batteries will be augmented with solar energy collected with panels procured and installed under this project. Volvo Ford-owned company exploring PHEVs "ReCharge" flex-fuel series 60-mile concept PHEV w/wheel motors. announced a partnership with utility Southern California Edison to test a fleet of rechargeable electric vehicles and said it expected to sell such plug-in hybrids within the next decade if battery technology keeps pace.

If youre a stickler for electric vehicles, there is an electric scooter that will travel up to 60 miles and can be recharged in 3 hours. Living in Michigan, that means that I cant use a scooter about 5 months of the year. My Vespa scooter gets 100 miles to the gallon and can carry two people and two bags of groceries under the seat.
