Honda’s work on hydrogen-powered vehicles stretches back to the 1980s, when it began basic research on fuel cells, and engaged in research and development of FCVs. Honda’s current state-of-the-art vehicle is the Clarity Fuel Cell, currently available in Japan, and to be available in the US and Europe by the end of the year.

Charging nightly and driving less than 29 miles will mean less need for hydrogen fuel, which is currently available at only about 50 stations in California. The closest comparisons for hydrogen-only cars are the Toyota Mirai and Hyundai Nexo.
