I modified the wiring in the original 914 AC kit (as suggested by Paul Jorg) to turn on the regen when the brake lights came on instead of controlling regen by releasing the accelerator pedal. This made the car much easier to drive (similar to an ICE vehicle). I purchased the kit as a no-gasoline commuter car solution.

Better Place is building stations in San Francisco, Hawaii, Israel, and Denmark to swap out 1,000 pound batteries in a car wash type set up. The Chevy Volt is going to count on an overnight charge from a standard wall outlet. Glad to see the variety & availability of electic commuter cars (vs hybrids & PHEV) is rising.
