On 18 March, Marketwatch reported that Valero purchased selected assets of corn ethanol suppliers for $477 million. Thats because electric engines are more efficient than internal-combustion engines, and because generating energy on a large scale (in coal or nuclear plants) is less wasteful than doing it on a small scale (by burning gasoline in an internal-combustion engine). Department of Energy has purchased an F3DM to take the battery apart.

Not to be outdone, on Tuesday the Norwegian electric car startup, Think, was in Portland being wooed by the state as one of 8 potential places to site their first car manufacturing facility in the United States.
