In March 2020 we installed 9 solar panels an inverter and 2 battery packs. We then switched to Octopus energy as they seemed to understand Smart meters and were more than happy to install a 2nd generation smart meter that provided night rates. . Apparently in total this equates to a saving of 715 KG of coal burning and a saving of 1.8

Some housekeeping The 7kW slow charger hasn’t been installed in my society due to some complications that maybe covered in a separate post. I have been on exactly one ICE (dinasour juice* consuming Internal Combustion Engine vehicles) roadtrip prior to this. Gotta love the free and the fast juice at MG’s Fortum Chargers.

That being said, even a car that derives its energy from coal power plants would be far more clean. Having centralized energy production in that way allows for centralized pollution control measures, filters, so-called "clean coal" rather than depending on X number of cars, manufacturers, and consumers to deal with pollution control.
