The conversion can double or even triple fuel economy, thereby severely limiting carbon dioxide emissions. As a result, the plug-ins burn much less fuel, thereby significantly reducing CO2 emissions.

Company says its focusing on gasoline and hydrogen. Has shown some concept fuel-cell PHEVs. First Escape PHEV delivered to SCE Nov 2007; 20 in 2008-2009.

Gasoline is burnt up and gone forever into the atmosphere and into our lungs. In most conversions cost is about the same because of needless weight. Even if you charge your EV with electricity made from coal fired generators you reduce your car’s pollution by half. If you charge with solar, is way less.
