Wind generation in the East North Central states – Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin – declined by 6% compared with 2022. Wind generation from August through December, however, was 2.4% higher than during the same period in 2022.

The Union of Concerned Scientists documents that an ICE vehicle in Ohio must maintain an average of 60 mpg to equal the emissions used to produce what’s needed to run an EV for the same distance. In California, it is 134 mpg.
