The Ford F-150 Lightning is between 2,000 and 3,000 pounds heavier than the non-electric version. The US transportation sector accounts for the largest portion of US greenhouse gas emissions, and I firmly believe it is a human right to breathe clean air. The electric F-150 weighs 700 kg more than its petrol-powered predecessor.

Researchers at MIT and the Ford Motor Company have found that depending on the location, lightweight conventional vehicles could have a lower lifecycle greenhouse gas impact than electric vehicles, at least in the near term.
