The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to make it easier for manufacturers to gain approval to sell fuel conversion systems. The proposed rule would cover conversions of light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty highway vehicles and engines, and would apply to all clean alternative fuels. Vehicle/Engine Age.

Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) announced it will be working together with Sierra Northern Railway, Gas Technology Institute (GTI), and other technical experts to develop and test a zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell engine for a switcher locomotive. EcoDual , LLC, a provider of dual fuel natural gas conversion systems for heavy-duty diesel trucks, has achieved US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) compliance for installing its systems on 2004 to 2009 Cummins ISX engines.
