Alset’s dual-fuel Hybrid Hydrogen system. A prototype, twin-turbo, Aston Martin Rapide S at the 41 st ADAC Zurich 24 Hours of Nürburgring (19-20 May 2013) will debut Alset Global’s dual fuel Hybrid Hydrogen system, which enables the turbocharged 6.0-liter liter V12 engine car to run on pure gasoline or hydrogen or a blend of both.

Volkswagen unveiled the Golf Sportwagen HyMotion hydrogen fuel cell hybrid research vehicle demonstrator yesterday at the Los Angeles Auto Show ( earlier post ). Volkswagen has also built several research vehicles based on the US version of the Passat using the same hydrogen drivetrain components as fitted in the Golf SportWagen HyMotion.

Audi will introduce the compact A3 Sportback g-tron—which can be powered by the CO 2 -neutral Audi e-gas, synthetic methane generated from eco-electricity in the Audi e-gas project ( earlier post )—at the end of the year. In a news conference at the Japan National Press Club on Friday, Toyota Motor President Akio Toyoda said that the company plans to begin mass production of electric vehicles in the US in 2012, followed by US production of fuel cell vehicles in 2015. As an example, Yokoyama used the carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) hydrogen storage tank.

If there was ever a car on the road fitting the bill as future, it is the 2024 Toyota Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV). This is impressive as there are only 55 operating hydrogen fuel stations in the state and the availability of hydrogen is sometimes spotty. No plugging in to an electrical outlet.
