17 States have filed a lawsuit with the Federal Court of Appeals, suing to prevent California from banning new ICE vehicle sales after 2035. California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) is expected to ban the sale of new ICE vehicles after 2035 tomorrow, but 17 State Attorney Generals have sued in federal court to block the move.

Tesla Insurance will face a class-action lawsuit alleging that the company charged drivers too much for premiums by using “false” crash warnings, after a California judge ruled against the automaker this week. A Tesla spokesperson and the insurance arm’s legal team have not responded to requests for comment.

The US Environmental Agency (EPA) has granted California’s waiver request enabling the state to enforce its greenhouse gas emissions standards (Pavley I) for new motor vehicles, beginning with the current model year. California requested from EPA the waiver required for implementation of the Pavley regulations in December 2005.
