Clean Energy Fuels Corp delivered 143 million gallons of Redeem Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) last year as robust sales of the carbon-neutral transportation fuel continued in 2019, closing out the year with significant deals throughout North America. The contract also includes continued operation and maintenance for the length of the agreement.

UPS has purchased another 48 heavy tractor trucks equipped to run on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). and Las Vegas, Nev., UPS is the only private delivery company using this technology in its fleet and now has more than 1,100 natural gas-powered vehicles in service. along with UPS’s 11 existing LNG tractors.

Instead of flying from my home in Southern California, I asked if my wife and I could drive to the event. Electric vehicles are most efficient when driven in town to take advantage of the regenerative braking, or on the open road at slower speeds. The all-electric efficiency averaged about 3.0 miles per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

At CES in Las Vegas, the company announced that hydrogen fuel will now play a “crucial role in Hyundai’s sustainability roadmap as it is a clean energy source.” Rather than plugging in the vehicle as you would for a battery-electric car, hydrogen fuel cells rely on compressed hydrogen.

The vehicles and infrastructure being funded include the use of natural and renewable gas, propane, ethanol, biodiesel, electricity, and hybrid technologies. The project will deploy 502 alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles through 119 public and private fleets throughout the state. Total DOE award: $15,000,000.
