That battery takes up to 85kW charge rate at a public DC charger, meaning 0-80 percent’s possible in 35 minutes. A normal Fiat 500e is a few grand cheaper at $52,500 before costs, while the larger BYD Dolphin is yours from $38,890, the GWM Ora $39,990 and MG4 $38,990. Range is a very city-specific 253 to 265km (WLTP).

BYD ute BYD ute patent shows what the EV ute will look like BYD is the biggest threat to Tesla globally and it’s also shaping up to give the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger something to worry about with a new ute. The much-hyped BYD ute is due in 2024 and it’s already been leaked in online patent images.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. That way you have a fair basis of comparison, you know, apples to apples and all that jazz. The car is expected to cost around $40,000. Thats right.
