As of June 15, 2022, Ford will no longer offer the opportunity to purchase its three all-electric vehicles, the F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, and E-Transit Van, for new leases. Ford informed dealers in a letter that it was discontinuing the end-of-lease purchase option for the E-Transit van, Mustang Mach-E, and F-150 Lightning.

This year, Tesla’s cheapest cars, the Model 3 compact sedan, lost tax credits for the purchase of EVs under the Inflation Reduction Act. Tesla is expanding its battery facility in Sparks, Nevada to bring the supply chain for cheaper lithium iron phosphate batteries (LFP) to the United States, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday.

We have a free market; therefore if Americans truly wanted to make the switch to electric vehicles, then they would buy them — no government interference necessary. This winter, residents in the Sierra Nevada mountains lost power for days due to heavy snow storms. People shouldn't be compelled to purchase them.
