Audi is re-introducing a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) to its Australian line-up from mid-2023 in the form of the Q5 55 TFSI e luxury medium SUV. It can be charged at up to 7.2kW AC for a full charge in around 2.5 Top speed is 239km/h as a PHEV, or 135km/h as an EV. 2023 Audi Q5 55 TFSI e PHEV tech.

On the front, you have the led headlights that shine that much brighter than halogen, lighting your way a lot more effectively at night. Here’s the Peugeot lion with a dichroic treatment on it to signify that it’s electric, apparently the badge changes colour according to the light and angle, to me from here it looks blue. Coming round the front you’ve got your automatic lights and alloy wheels. The CCS connector is your public rapid charge port.

The PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), a subset of the electric car, combines a primary electric motor with a much smaller back-up engine fueled with a hydrocarbon/biofuel mix. (In In this paper PHEV refers solely to the long-range PHEV of 60 miles (100 km) electric-only range.) It is much more than that.
