BMW Connected, a new personal mobility companion, made its world debut at Microsoft Build 2016, Microsoft’s developer conference, last week. The first version—called BMW Connected North America—is now available at the Apple App Store to BMW ConnectedDrive customers in the US for iOS devices.

Everyone’s all excited that Ford just turned a profit, but they’re doing it with a fleet of uninspired crappy cars that they practically have to give away. You might as well call most of the cars they’re selling “future clunkers.&# When’s your affordable EV that gets 1oo mile range on a quick charge Ford?

Holiday greetings from teetering on the precipice of bankruptcy California, where we’ve had a couple of unnerving earthquakes, a historic election and a disappointing Lakers’ home loss in the NBA Western Conference Finals since last I posted. But apparently Scotto could not convince the folks at Mini that Torrance was worthy.

The morning session started out with an hour long press conference, the highlight being the unveiling of the Volt’s 230 mpg preliminary EPA city fuel economy finding ( earlier post ), as well as a tour showing selected elements from the studios of the four GM North American brands: Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac. Here’s what the brainiacs at General Motors sent the premier EV car conference on the West Coast. Same truth of engineers who have actually talked to real drivers is in evidence with the BMW Mini-E. Too bad BMW isn’t planning on building and selling this car for real. May I charge your EV sir? Check the oil?
