Another Niche Filled by an Electric Version. Electric cars, trucks and buses are slowly making their way onto roads. million electric vehicle sales to date. Hybrid and fully electric vehicles are already available for a variety of commercial and personal uses. However, the vehicle isn’t fully electric.
Porsche 914 EV Conversion

Since traffic is really light on Sunday morning, I drove to work (15 miles away) and back to see how the 914 would handle. Shifting was a real pain on city streets since the electric motor changes RPM very quickly during acceleration or regeneration. I'm not sure how much current these golf cart batteries are designed for.

Kulongoski, Oregon as the electric-car manufacturer may be eyeing the “green” city of Portland. The MiEV runs on a lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged in seven or so hours on a 240-volt line.

The Volt is, and always has been, more than than an electric car. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. Wired Home Subscribe Sections Cars 2.0 But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. Thats short-sighted.
