Along with the registration site, the E-Transit electric vans have updated pricing, with a targeted starting MSRP of $43,295 for the cutaway—lower than originally announced—to $52,690 for the high-roof extended-wheelbase cargo van. It will be built alongside the Transit at Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri.

The vehicles and infrastructure being funded include the use of natural and renewable gas, propane, ethanol, biodiesel, electricity, and hybrid technologies. The program includes the installation of 10 alternative fuel refueling sites (two B20, one Electric Recharging, and seven CNG). Total DOE award: $15,000,000.

Electric trucks created in Washington, Tyne & Wear are today on the roads of Washington DC. Four major US corporations and two utility companies took delivery of the Smith Newton, the largest road-going electric truck in North America. It can be recharged in six hours.

A battery powered, all electric utility truck with an aerial device has been produced by Smith Electric Vehicles US Corporation in association with Altec Industries Inc. The company will provide test data to Smith Electric and Altec for the creation of the production model. The full battery recharge takes six-eight hours.
